may be somebody is interested in an organisation i get to know by passing my practicum:

I can recommend this organisation:

Internationaler Versöhnungsbund
International Fellowship of Reconciliation Movimiento Internacional de la Reconciliación

Hi Ernestine.
Yes, please, write me more about IFOR.
Do you have some feedback?

Oh forgot to say bout why I like Mother Theresa but guess that's obvious- relentless undying compassion she had the love and the will...I saw a documentary on her once and it can bring you to tears at points...I cant say I am able to totally related to how selfless she was ...I more think as women we have to take care of ourselves first before we then care for others and some women forget this...guess people like Oprah constantly remind us not to neglect ourselves! Not critising Mother Theresa or anything just cant relate to the extreme selflessness she went to in her life...I mean after all one's self is also lovable? I also find at least from the perspective of the documentary I saw on her...I mean she was so alone at times...that I can relate to...but that's when I guess I throw in the towel and I guess that is where she is superior to me...I mean I sometimes decide look Im not going to take on all of this alone I need the support of someone but I guess it is a constant battle but I for sure relate to how at times she felt so alone in her struggle. Also looking at the documentary I wished I could have been there to give her a hug or to appease her at times...it did seem in the documentary's perspective that there was this one priest who worked closely with her at times who did encourage her or she could speak to him at times. It is the same priest who later on realises that all the fancy meetings etc for the non-profit were not necessary(as even the cost of a bottle of water at the meeting could help a child so much of course really they were genuinely trying to manage the situation too). and he bows and prays to her as blessed..at least according to the documentary I saw.

I've never read any of Pearl Buck's books so far but I admire the stuff I read bout her life. And one of my fav quotes ever is from her...I discovered it when I was a freshman(or woman) in uni and it gave me some solace or I felt there someone I can relate to too or who explains to a large extent how i sometimes felt! The quote is:
“The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this: A human creature born abnormally, inhumanely sensitive. To them... a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise, a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy, a friend is a lover, a lover is a god, and failure is death.
Add to this cruelly delicate organism the overpowering necessity to create, create, create - so that without the creating of music or poetry or books or buildings or something of meaning, their very breath is cut off...They must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency they are not really alive unless they are creating.” - Pearl Buck

I guess I just admire the bit I read bout Jeanne d'Arc too did she have spiritual powers you are saying or she should have? I find yea though if God was going to send you a msg to fight at least he or she should have given you some powers! :)

Jhansi ki Rani is also a female who fought in India as I believe was no male heir to her throne as her son had died. But she had legalised some adoption. And her husband the king had died. A bit about her from wikipedia below. The other name is what she got upon marriage as she became a royal and was custom to take a new name:

Jhansi became a center of the rebellion upon the outbreak of violence in 1857. Rani Lakshmibai started strengthening the defense of Jhansi and assembled a volunteer army. Women were recruited as well as men and given military training. The rani was accompanied by her generals. Many from the local population volunteered for service in the army ranks, with the popular support for her cause on the rise.

In September and October of 1857, the Rani led the successful defense of Jhansi from the invading armies of the neighboring rajas of Datia and Orchha.

In January of 1858, the British Army started its advance on Jhansi, and in March laid siege to the city. After two weeks of fighting, the British captured the city, but the rani escaped in the guise of a man, strapping her adopted son Damodar Rao closely on her back. She fled to Kalpi where she joined Tantya Tope, another maratha general and another leading figure of the 1857 mutinty (later hanged by the british).

[edit] Death
The Rani met her death on 17 June, during the battle for Gwalior. The Rani of Jhansi donned warrior's clothes and rode into battle to save Gwalior Fort, about 120 miles west of Lucknow in what is now the state of Madhya.[1] There is dispute about the exact circumstances of her death. According to contemporary British reports she was mortally wounded by a stray bullet and climbed her own funeral pyre. A letter written by T.A. Martin says that,

refusing the assistance of Tantia Topee who offered to take her off, she ordered a ladder to be planted against a hayrick which was close by, ascended it unassisted, and ordered her people to set fire to it, which was done. This happened in Goosain's Bagh near Phoolbagh. I went and saw the spot.[2]

The British captured Gwalior three days later. In his report of the battle for Gwalior, General Rose commented that the Rani had been "the bravest and the best" of the rebels. Because of her unprecedented bravery, courage and wisdom and her progressive views on women's empowerment in 19th century India, and due to her sacrifices, she became an icon of Indian nationalist movement.

Of course Oprah is my real fav person I often think gosh Oprah is getting on Im going to be so sad if she dies before I do on earth will miss her so much! Or even when she retires...thats how much I like her and Ive never met her!
