- About Me:
- Meu nome é Maria do Rozário Pompéia Vieira Sonoda, nasci em 22/05/1951 em Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Pernambuco, Brasil.
Desde criança sentia forte atração pelo desenho e a pintura. Aos quatorze anos, pintei minha primeira tela à óleo.
Pintora autodidata, sentia grande insegurança em mostrar meus trabalhos e para superar esta dificuldade, matriculei-me no Curso de Pintura, oferecido pelo Departamento de Teoria da Arte e Expressão Artística do Centro de Arte e Comunicação da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco em 1981, ministrado pelo Prof. Fernando Lúcio. Neste mesmo ano, participei do Iº Encontro de Artes, junto com o Grupo Zilda Molla, promovido pelo Rotoract Club do Jaboatão, com o apoio da Coordenadoria Cultural do Nordeste - MEC (Ministério da Educação e Cultura) e Prefeitura de Jaboatão.
Em 1996, participei do Curso de Técnica do Desenho e da Pintura, realizado pela Fundação Joaquim Mabuco, ministrado pelo Prof. Jacques Weyne.
Me mantenho pintando com regularidade, sou Liçenciada em História e Pós-Graduada em História do Nordeste, com Extensão em Filosofia e leciono na Rede Estadual e Municipal.
