It's all about the angle, that's what I figured out all by myself. Wow! Novel concept. I've had two cameras, one broke after I started to get use to using it and figuring out how it really worked. (Trust me that was a real bummer.) My second...

About Me:
I'm a self-taught artist living in my home town of Hilo, on the Big Island of Hawaii. (Yes, the one with the active volcano Kilauea) I love my island home, and growing up here has given me such a blessed sense of what true beauty is all about. I've been so fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience my culture, and it's magical lore first hand, in which I've chosen to incorporate in my artwork.

In my earlier periods of exhibiting and creating my paintings, I did a lot of what we call Hawaiiana. Which to many would be hula dancers, flowers, landscape, etc. But as life has a way of leading us upon our own search for self, I found myself diving deeper into realms of mystery, self identity, and the darker unrevealed passions. In which I find to be where my true talent has chosen to blossom.

At the present time I'm working on a new study of graphite on rice paper and tracing paper, which I find I love very much. I'm also intrigued by the human form, and it's depth of mystery as well. So we shall see where that leads. But for now I'm loving what I'm doing.

Besides being a fine artist, I'm also a crafter, instructor, and jewelry designer. I'm working on my fall collection to exhibit real soon. I'm also selling my work in local shops, and have just been invited to exhibit my work in a new gallery boutique in New York called House of Creations. I presently have two on line boutiques at Etsy.com
called Jewelry by Reshell and Stone & Bone. And I'm doing pretty well.

I believe as an artist it is my opportunity to share what I do. I believe that although we create art, we are only doing half of the process. The other half is in the sharing. I believe that to share what we do makes to process complete. And in it's completeness we evolve as a person, and artist and as spirit motion.

I love what I do, I love learning new techniques, I love driving myself mad with the process, but above all I wouldn't change a thing. I love my life, and art has given me the vehicle to make it what it is.

so to all of you, thanks for coming by, and jump on and enjoy the ride.

How & Where Do Artist Market Their Wares, To Non Artist Buyers?

I'm an artist, crafter and business woman, as well as an art instructor doing community volunteer work, with youth after school programs. I've been in business for 10 years, and also have run my family automobile repair business. As you can see the two are in separate extremes. One is based on and dependent on Insurance companies, and the other is dependent on if I'm reaching the right customers to buy my wares.

My dilemma is this, I belong to a few well know artisan networks, such as Etsy, Art… Continue
