I've been to India twice for extended periods but mostly in Rajasthan, though I had to make the trip to Rishikesh and Swarg Asharam.
My husband is Indian and the beautiful diversity of the sub continent is truly awe inspiring.
It doesn't surprise me that the lake is sacred to Buddhists. I think anyone can achieve a high meditative state in the very presence of nature.
