- About Me:
- I am an artist based in Pune.
You can say I am a late bloomer in the Art’s field. When I was almost 30, 2 things happened in my life. First, I did not have to worry about my bread and butter, which, unfortunately, occupies almost everybody’s mind and time and secondly, I was fortunate enough to get into the company of creative minds of artists, architects which consequently led me to get interested in arts and ultimately I began studying, especially, 20th Century Western art. Since then my life, mostly, is about art.
Under mentorship, I began painting oils on canvas in 1999 and had a group exhibition in Pune in the same year followed by a second exhibition in Sri Lanka in 2000, joint exhibitions in Thailand in 2001 and 2002.
From 2007 until mid 2008 I was creating colorful 3D objects and linear compositions, digitally. In principle, I liked the work very much, except that I felt it missed a direct physical touch and feel, so I experimented to bring something similar to what I was doing on the computer on to large canvases. Now I think that my abstracts have the expressions and the impact which I could not accomplish digitally.
A solo show of my acrylics and digital C prints at Vaishwik Art Environment, Pune in Jan 2009.
Participated in a month long group exhibition organized by Sree arts, Gurgoan in June 2009.

- About my art
- For me, art is a process, its like living life. I start somewhere, on the way I get ideas which I want to develop and see what happens, and those ideas, in turn, bring in more ideas and I am sucked into it, full swing. And it depends in how far, intuitively, my whole physical being and my mental state of mind of the moment gets fully involved, that will make, if the work in progress becomes a satisfactory finished art piece or something which belongs to the thrash bin.
My canvases reflect the illusion of freedom. It reflects The Universe, a certain order in the chaotic mess. It may appear random but its not random at all, it happened because it had to happen, exactly like life, because of all the circumstances which led towards making it happen.
